THE EBB AND FLOW

THE EBB AND FLOW

The guiding star is retreating
The shore is far beyond the horizon
And unseen; darkness thickens,
Storm and tides roaring,
No helping hands appear;
Nor does any ray of hope.
You are unaccompanied
And you yourself are the yacht
None to row, none at the wheel
You are alone, you are fainting!
Hark, you captain of vessel,
Behold and watch over keenly;
Where this storm unleashed from?
Where these surges rose from?
The ebb and gush, tides and gust
Are really not around you;
But within your turbulent heart!
Be calm; be attentive at the helm
All these commotion will die out.
